We all know the internet and mobile devices are extraordinary platforms for viewing content at any given point in time, as well as marketing for businesses and websites.They reach millions of viewers daily- and they are also constantly evolving to keep up with all the possibilities out there. What’s one other place where there are millions of viewer’s in one place? That’s right- the TV.Google, who is known for their innovation and ability to transform and shift with new technology, is bringing something new into our lives. Google TV and TV ads.
What are the benefits that Google TV and Ads will bring?
- Familiar Interface- Chrome is the main component.
- Shift between TV channels and internet channels, such as Hulu.
- Google TV SDK and web APIs for developers
- Ability to optimize your website for one more advertising platform.
- The ability to search for shows- type it in and let Google TV find it online or on regular TV
- Targeted exposure for your company
Some companies, such as Verizon with Fios, have offered widgets and other internet enabled features with their set-top box, but none that are extensive as what Google can offer. Not only is Google offering the integration of the whole internet landscape into one consolidated place, but they are offering the ability to tailor and design web apps specifically for your viewers if you’re a developer.

Google TV has chosen Chrome to integrate into your TV, so that you can shift endlessly between the regular channels offered, as well as the thousands that the internet expands into. Want to watch Hulu? You won’t be confined to your itty bitty widescreen display on your desk, or your laptop anywhere. You can sit in the family room and essentially browse whatever you want to.
According to the Official Google Blog,
“We’re working together with Sony, Logitech and Intel to put Google TV inside of televisions, Blu-ray players and companion boxes. These devices will go on sale this fall, and will be available at Best Buy stores nationwide. You can sign up here to get updates on Google TV availability.”
