Have a love for technology, mobile technology/apps, social media, gadgets or web 2.0 in general?  Like to write?  Then we want you! Geekulous has a growing community of guest writers and we’re looking to add some new people to the team.

Here are some traits that we’re looking for in our writers:

  • Loves technology and writing about it.
  • Can be available via instant messenger (preferably Google Talk) and respond to emails in a timely manner.
  • Can write at least one original article (minimum of 300 words) per week (less frequent posting can be arranged, just ask)
  • OK with the editors making edits (we’re not going to rewrite your article if major edits need to be made we will return it to you with clear feedback) and providing constructive feedback on your work.
  • Willing to participate in community discussions, this includes responding to comments made on your article.

What’s in it for you? (aside from being able to say you write for Geekulous.)

Since we are still growing we are unable to provide monetary compensation but we have a lot more to offer.  You will be provided with your own Geekulous account that includes a Geekulous email and calendar.   We can offer you links back to your blog and author byline on each article with up to 3 links.  Write more than 3 articles for us and you will receive a full author bio page.  And of course, we will sing your praises on all sites we can.  We welcome all levels of writers, novice to expert as long as you have a passion for technology and writing you’re good.

So how do you get the gig?

Just send an email to writers[at]geekulous[dot]com.  In your email please include a little bit about yourself including contact information (may include email, social network, messenger accounts, etc.), what your interests are, why you think you would make a good addition to the Geekulous team, and links to your previous work or blog.  If you don’t have a blog or previous work posted please include a writing sample of around 500 words on a topic that you believe would fit well with the content found on Geekulous.  Important: Please include your writing sample in your email, any emails with attachments will not be opened.  If you have any ideas for articles you would like to write feel free to include that in your email.

Once you submit your completed email you will receive a response from one of our editors within 1 business day.
